Every year, there’s a new list of must-do marketing trends.
Post more. Polish harder. Be everywhere. Look flawless.
And honestly?
I’m tired of that version of marketing.
As we head into 2026, I’m officially leaving behind a few trends that no longer serve me—or the business owners I work with. Not because they’re “wrong,” but because they’re exhausting, unsustainable, and often disconnected from real humans.
Here’s what I’m letting go of—and what I’m choosing instead.

Leaving behind:
Perfectly curated feeds. Over-edited brand photos. Content that looks amazing but says nothing.
Choosing instead:
Presence over perfection.
Your audience doesn’t need you to be flawless—they need you to be there. Showing up consistently, even imperfectly, builds more trust than disappearing while you chase “just one more tweak.”
Messy captions. Real photos. Honest words.
That’s what people connect with.
Leaving behind:
Buzzwords, templates, and copy that could belong to literally anyone.
If your website sounds like it was written by ChatGPT and every other business in your industry… we’ve got a problem.
Choosing instead:
A distinct, recognizable voice.
Your personality is a branding asset. Your humor, your values, your lived experience—those are things no algorithm can replicate. When your brand sounds like you, the right people lean in.
Leaving behind:
The idea that if you’re not posting daily, emailing weekly, and launching constantly, you’re falling behind.
Burnout is not a marketing strategy.
Choosing instead:
Sustainable, repeatable marketing.
Marketing that fits into your real life.
Marketing you can maintain during busy seasons.
Marketing that still works when you step away.
Consistency beats intensity every single time.
Leaving behind:
Cold calls to action with zero relationship built beforehand.
“Buy now” doesn’t work if people don’t trust you yet.
Choosing instead:
Story-driven marketing.
People don’t just buy services—they buy beliefs, values, and alignment. When you share why you do what you do, the right clients don’t need convincing.
Leaving behind:
Logos as personalities. Brands with no face, no story, no heart.
Choosing instead:
More me.
Not oversharing. Not turning my business into a diary.
But letting clients see the human behind the brand—the mom, the business owner, the creative, the person who actually understands their struggles.
People don’t connect with brands.
They connect with people.
✔ Authenticity over aesthetics
✔ Clarity over noise
✔ Presence over perfection
✔ Connection over conversion
If your marketing feels heavy, forced, or performative… that’s your cue to simplify.
And if you want help creating a brand that actually sounds like you and attracts the right clients?
That’s exactly what I do.
